Homewood Learning - Year 1 & Year 2

Spring Learning

This week Homewood set up a Toy Museum in the Hall for everyone to come and have a look at . It was a timeline of toys from the 1900s to the 2000s. Home wood had written facts about the toys and were able to answer questions on their materials, design and uses.

Homewood were learning about tally charts in maths this week with Mrs Goddard. Have a go at home, tally up your coloured socks, make a chart and practice this skill.

Autumn Learning

We have been learning about the primary colours and how to mix them to make secondary colours. We then experimented with making shades and tints using neutral colours. We learnt about artists and copied their techniques to create our own pieces of art.

Plants

In Homewood, we have been learning about plants. Here are our Sunflowers that we have grown from seeds and our art work inspired by plants.

We were very excited to have the farm visiting us at school this week. We were able to hold guinea pigs, feed the goats, look at the chickens and pig and brush the pony. It was a lovely morning and generated amazing discussion and great writing.
